If our stories are not recorded with intention, they won't be recorded in a meaningful way.
Before you know it, little ones have grown in the blink of an eye. Relatives who were once vibrant and full of life are getting up in years and not as active as they once were. Where did the time go?
When you look back on those years, what will you have to remember them by? Birthday cards, cell phone pictures, and texts likely, but what about their voice?
Recently, I heard a teenager who lost her mom say that she was forgetting what her mom's laugh sounded like. That is heartbreaking. It's something she never wanted to forget, but if a loved one's voice isn't recorded, it's easy for it to fade over time.
A guided legacy interview will preserve the expression, emotion, and the voice of the people you love.
From private consultations to carefully guided interviews, from documentary film quality to discreet sensitivity, we craft your legacy film with care, respect, and excellence.
Whether you want a simple interview, a multi-generation documentary, or an estate-wide story told over generations, we build the project around your history, values, and vision.
Parents and grandparents wanting to leave a legacy
Families with rich history or multi-generational stories
Estate planners or family offices looking to preserve heritage
Loved ones hoping to preserve memories before a milestone or change

What was the bedtime routine you had growing up?
Who makes the secret family recipe?
Where does the family gather for celebrations?
Whether it's pancakes on Saturday mornings, jaunts to the ranch, or fishing on the lake, those are all great opportunities to record A Day in the Life Video.
A video that shows the most important people in your life how valuable those moments are to you.
When my now-grown children were younger, I read to them. It was a nightly routine up until the oldest was fifteen years old.
How many photos do we have of us all cuddled together enjoying those moments? How many videos do we have of those years doing that same routine?
Zero. Not a single one.
It was a memory I cherish. While I can recall it now, I may not be able to someday. That's why I created A Day in the Life Videos. So that you can have moments recorded you might otherwise miss and regret later.
Every detail is handled for you. Your only job is to show up and enjoy your family.
Yes. Our preference is to record face to face so that we get the most professional production possible, however, we understand that some families are continent's apart.
Yes. We can travel anywhere around the globe. Whether you have a lake house, cabin, ranch, or other destination, we can meet you there. We can discuss your options during the consultation.
Yes, we are happy to set up a conversation area at your event provided we have a recording space. This is something we can discuss with your event planner.
Guests are invited into the recording area one or two at a time where we will have a conversation about the guest(s) of honor and how they impacted their life or they're encouraged to share memories about them.
The conversation time is decided by you during the consultation call. A standard time is one hour, but it could take more or less depending on what you decide. For example, when we are invited to visit a senior center, we may record each person for less than ten minutes.
During your consultation, we'll decide what is best for you. You will have the option to record at my studio in the Cotton Mill in downtown McKinney, your home, or another location that suits you.
Weather permitting, we are able to shoot outdoors, although we've found that most people are more comfortable indoors where the climate is controlled and we have full control of the ambient sounds in the recording area.
During your consultation, you will be offered the opportunity to have me come to your home and help you choose what to wear. In the event that people will be coming from different locations out of the Dallas Fort Worth area, we can discuss what options are available to you regarding what to wear.
Have you ever planned to wear something only to discover that it's missing or doesn't fit the way it used to? One of the reasons I offer to come to your home is to ensure that you feel comfortable and confident in what we choose for you to wear. Another reason is that some patterns can produce a moire effect when filmed. If we'll be recording in your home, it also gives me an idea of what the space looks like for filming.
The purpose of the face to face consultations is to help make everyone involved feel comfortable and relaxed, not awkward. The recording process is simply a conversation.
Editing takes time to ensure the best quality. Most videos are delivered within 2-3 weeks, while extended interviews could take up to 6 weeks. Rush processing may be available upon request.
You have the option to choose what is best for you. We are able to provide you with a DVD, a thumb drive, or a digital link.
Your recordings are securely backed up on Forever.com. You will have digital access to the recordings through your private login credentials.
The recordings are yours to keep private or share as you choose to do. The only time that we will share your films is with your express consent.
Depending on if the location you choose allows pets, you are welcome to include your pet(s), yes.
Yes! We highly encourage you to capture recordings of all the most important people in your life. Children have an innocent, unfiltered view of the world. They don't stay little for long.
Documenting your life story is something that should be done at least once in a lifetime, but we highly encourage recording milestone years beginning at the age of 10. Another time to consider documenting is around major life experiences such as the birth of a child or grandchild, a milestone anniversary, or an upcoming retirement.
We believe you should document your life story as a gift for yourself and for future generations.
Ideally, one or two people are recorded in the same conversation. We are able to record more, but we don't encourage more than a handful be done at the same time.
Yes, we encourage you to gather printed family photos and home movies or photos video clips from your phone. Depending on the option you choose, we are able to incorporate them into the final video edit.
Depending on your state, music licensing regulations may not allow an artist's music to be used commercially, but they may allow music for private use, so the short answer is, it depends.
We will discuss options during your consultation. If you have specific questions you'd like asked, we are happy to accommodate.
That's entirely your decision. We only share recordings of clients who have given us permission to do so.
We are careful to edit anything out that you don't want shared. You'll receive a rough draft before the final video. If there is anything you'd like us to remove, we are happy to do that for you.
