A Day in the Life Film
What was the bedtime routine you had growing up? Who makes the secret family recipe? Where does the family gather for celebrations?
Whether it is pancakes on Saturday mornings, visits to the ranch, or fishing on the lake, these are golden opportunities to record A Day in the Life Film, a film that shows the most important people in your life exactly how much those moments mean.
When my now grown children were younger, I read to them every night, a routine that continued until my oldest was fifteen. I do not have a single photo or video of those years together. It is a memory I cherish deeply, and one I have no way to return to except in my mind. That is the reason I created Day in the Life Films, so your family can hold onto the moments I was not able to keep.
The Purpose Behind These Experiences
I created this work in honor of my sister, Kristina.
When she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, she determined to live her life fully.
The year before she passed, she and my niece came to visit. I was able to photograph the two of them together. Though she had concerns about the way she looked and the way her hair was growing back after her treatments. I assured her that her daughter would love the images just the way they were. They will forever be my favorite portraits of them. I gifted my niece a 20x30 framed portrait of this, her personal favorite.
That print lives on her wall today. That is what I want for your family.

The Craft Behind the Portrait
Why Giclée canvas and hand-painted brushstrokes matter.
Not all printed portraits are the same. Zoe Martin uses the Giclée fine art printing process, the same archival-quality method used by museums and galleries, which means the colors, depth, and detail in your portrait will remain true for generations without fading.
The brushstroke process goes beyond print. Each portrait is worked by hand after printing, with individual strokes applied to the skin, hair, clothing, and background to give the piece a presence and texture that a photograph simply cannot carry. The result rivals traditional oil paintings because in every meaningful way, it is one.
This level of craft takes time. Most portraits are delivered within four to six weeks. Larger family sessions may take up to eight weeks. Rush processing is available upon request.
Our 25 Year Anniversary was on March 2, 2021. It was during a time when social distancing held many restrictions on getting together. Instead of celebrating with friends and family, we chose to have a private vow renewal with our three children instead.
It was a cherished moment to have them by our side to celebrate with us. To commemorate it, we have this gorgeously designed 30x40 brush portrait hanging in our home. When company comes to visit, they stand in front of it, admiring the detail.

Session lengths vary depending on how many people are in the portrait. Most sessions last between 45 minutes and two hours. We go over all of these details during your consultation.

Yes. Our strong preference is to record in person so that we achieve the most professional production possible. We understand, however, that some families are continents apart, and we are happy to discuss virtual options during your consultation.

Yes. We can travel anywhere in the world. Whether you have a lake house, a cabin, a ranch, or another destination, we can meet you there. Travel options and fees are discussed during your consultation.

Yes. We are happy to set up a conversation area at your event provided we have a suitable recording space. This is something we coordinate directly with your event planner.

Guests are invited into the recording area one or two at a time for a guided conversation about the guest of honor and the impact they have made on their lives.

The length of your session is decided during the consultation call. A standard interview runs approximately one hour, though it may be shorter or longer depending on what you have in mind.

During your consultation, we will help you decide what works best for your family. Options include our private studio inside The MillHouse in downtown McKinney, your home, or another location that accommodates everyone involved.

Weather permitting, we are able to film outdoors. Most clients prefer an indoor setting where the climate is controlled and ambient sound is managed, but outdoor sessions are available and can be discussed during your consultation.

During your consultation, you will be offered the opportunity to have Zoe come to your home and help you choose what to wear. For clients coming from different locations across Dallas–Fort Worth, we discuss options during the consultation call.

Two reasons. First, certain patterns can produce a moiré effect when filmed, which affects the final quality of your footage. Second, if we are filming in your home, seeing the space in advance helps us make the best decisions about lighting, setup, and styling.

The purpose of every consultation and session is to make sure everyone involved feels at ease. The recording process is simply a guided conversation. Most clients tell us they forgot the camera was even there.

Editing takes time to ensure the highest quality. Most films and portraits are delivered within three weeks. Extended interviews may take up to six weeks. Rush processing may be available for an additional fee.

Your recordings are securely backed up on Forever.com. You will have ongoing digital access through your private login credentials.

The recordings belong entirely to you. We will only share your films with your express written consent.

Absolutely. We highly encourage you to include the most important people in your life. Children bring an honest, unfiltered perspective that is irreplaceable. They do not stay little for long.

Depending on the location you choose, yes. We are happy to include pets and can discuss the best approach during your consultation.

At minimum, once in a lifetime. We strongly encourage beginning as early as age five and returning at major milestones: the birth of a child or grandchild, a significant anniversary, a business transition, or an upcoming retirement. Your story is still being written. Documenting it is not a one-time event.

Both. It is a gift to yourself to know your story has been kept, and it is one of the most meaningful things you can leave for the people you love.

One or two people per conversation is ideal. We can accommodate more, but we find that smaller groups allow for a richer, more personal recording.
